I kinda wanna do another movie series type thing on here like I did with Halloween and pixar. Only one I keep thinking of is...Harry potter. I havent seen any of them. I know most of what happens
Is it worth it
Should I bother
Is there a better series or group of movies I should check off instead

voted no but I haven't seen Potter either so not an informed opinion (: But I feel like at this point since I also know most of what happens / I didn't grow up with them, I doubt it'd live up to the hype for me
my vote would be for Studio Ghibli tho

Truuuue I did consider Studio Ghibli recently. I’ll definitely like them more than HP
That’s the big hang up on HP for me, I didn’t grow up with them. And LOTR>>>>> ... so that kinda has always made me wanna hate then. But I’d give it a fair shot I think

A lot since Rowling stole a lot :x
But the two are compared very often. They’re the fantasy version of Star Wars vs Star Trek

Due to recent events I say no. Just watch ghibli instead.
Jo rowling doesn't need any more fans

I know enough about HP to know that the tone/scale of both feel way different from LOTR. I don’t think they’re very similar outside of some Rowling-Tolkien influence. And it certainly won’t be in LOTR’s LEVEL! That’s for sure

Lotr and hp were big fantasy franchises around the same time. The 2000-2001 area.

I think the harry potter movies are a mixed bag you start with awkward kid actors and every shot is a second long because they had to cut back and forth to have workable footage with 3 10 year old actors but by 3 I will say Azgaban is a good movie. Probably cliche to say that but it's the most watchable as a movie. Then it starts to go downhill and Goblet of fire whew boy that's mess of fitting too much book into a movie but I quote the cringey dialogue from that one all the time.
It's just so much baggage with this series now and it makes me sad because I used to genuinely love it and now I'm like sorta trans I guess and Rowling just cannot stop being literally the worst?
Like I so much would want to tell you to just watch them if you can avoid buying them? But that's like 8 movies of kinda ok movies with a need for some pretty big blinders to enjoy.
