I see that theres no thread for this and that there is somewhat of a hockey crowd here so I'm going to create it because I want to be at least somewhat active here and I need other people to talk hockey with!


First of all for my Avs its cup or bust. If Lord Stanley does not return to the Rockie Mountains then this season is a fail.

Other big storylines I'm looking forward too are the division realignments.

The underrated depth that Vancouver has built up.

Can Toronto finally not Toronto even though half their cap is going to three players?

The renewal of the Blackhawks Red Wings rivalry!

Will playing the same team 8 times in one season create new and compelling rivalries?

An all Canadian division!

The Avs and Knights arms race to control the west.

Can the East Division be anymore stacked with cup contenders?

Do Tukka and MAF still have anything left in the tank?

Can the Lightning strike twice?

Is Ekman-Larsson the most underrated defenseman in hockey?

Will salary caps finally catch up with the knights?

Is Brent Burns ever going to retire?

Can Matthew Tkachuk maintain his status as dirtiest player in the league?

Will Evander Kane ever fight anyone worth a damn?

When will the Kings finally rename their team the retirement home?

And finally after decades of being a piss poor excuse for a sports franchise are the Senators finally done sucking ass?

Hopefully you can get into the Yotes spirit now that you live closer! But OEL is definitely not underrated. He’s fine, but hes not a superstar.

I’m excited for the season. I’ve had NHL TV the last two years but will not be getting it this year because now that I live in the East the Yotes games are on way too late. Will try to catch some streams or something though.

Oh dude spiritually I need this season. Idk if I can even like the Knights anymore after this season DeBoer is a douche and the Avs play them 8 times a bitter rivalry is about to be born lol. And I think OEL can upper tier good. He just needs to get out of AZ lol.

While this season won't be the same, I'm excited at the all Canadian division. I do agree it should be a one-off though or until this pandemic is over. Leafs are doing well to start, hopefully are defence has been fixed with the upgrades.

Should be an entertaining year during the pandemic.

To Edmonton,
Pierre Luc Dubois, 3rd rounder

At first I thought Edmonton got screwed. But in hindsight it makes them a lot tougher. Dubois is a solid two-way player who scores key moments. It makes the Jets tougher.

Columbus gets a natural stud, but will he work well with Torts? He will probably get along better with the Finnish GM.

Only a 3rd rounder given back to Edmonton? Did they value Dubois that much and retain a bit of Laine's salary? How bad was their relationship with him?

It's basically 2016 2nd pverall pick swap with the 3rd overall pick.

Dubois wants to play in a big market and population wise he went to the smallest market there is! I am skeptical Laine is going to work under Torts but we'll see.

I don't watch or know hockey but I kinda like the idea of hockey. I've been to one Rangers game like 18 years ago. Rangers would be my team, but looking at logos, I could support the Sharks, maybe the Senators. Waiting to be a Krak-head. Hmm there be a Rangers game tonight at 7.

When I was a wee thing I'd play as the Rangers or the Flyers in video games. Flyers logo is pretty cool.

Woops yeah Winnipeg and Patrik Laine. That's what I get for posting at 6am early in the morning. Exactly both are disgruntled and I felt went to similar places, so who knows how long they'll last there. I still think they will settle in. Dubois went to an even smaller town, but a big hockey market if he cares about that.

Rangers may be last in their division, but the one game I've watched they just won. So they're on the uptick and will secure 4th place!

The rangers are no longer soley in last place. Tied for it now, and 3 points behind 4th!

The Avs have been playing so average its been pissing me off. Granted the last couple of games not having Mack because Bitchfeld and the Sharts can't go 5 seconds without trying to end someones career doesn't help but still.

Bettman cowered to espn and gave them a 7 year deal after decades of those hack journalists disrespecting the sport. Basically bettman the idiot who 3 times put the league on lockdown has once again proven he's an incompetent piece of shit who has no business being in charge of anything.
