Also I don’t think you’ve talked about me enough. Just talk about me ❤️ |
Maxime !

Mira, you floppy fish, you’re an amazing specimen. I do agree we did grow distant at the end of my time, but I am still very fond of all the times we shared together in the game. I just want to see how you feel the game changes if I stay the round I left (you decide who you think goes in my place). Would you have kept me? Would you have made it to the end? Would you have accurately played that idol? Would we ever solve that instagram (you shady bitch. You’re lucky I’m lazy and gave up trying that very night). |
F10
It's very hard to guess who would have gone instead of you at F10 because the tribe dynamics would have had to be different for you to have stayed. It all depended on what the reason was that you weren't voted out so it could have gone a bunch of different ways. I'm going to try to keep things as similar to the real round as I can and assume you made the same decisions as you did but you won immunity and weren't eligible to be voted for. In that scenario I wouldn't have immunity, but people were worried I had the Slytherin idol and I could play that up a bit. People might act like the vote was on me to draw out the idol but vote for Draco or Ron. After a round where two idols were used to nullify votes, I bet there's a lot of paranoia about another idol and they might choose the least obvious target and vote out Ron. I would hold onto my idol here. Again, this could go a bunch of different ways, but this seems possible and Ron just said that he had more influence on all the merge votes than Draco and me combined so I might as well look at what would happen if he wasn't around.
F9
How I act for the entire F9 round hinges on your reaction to the Ron vote. This would have been the third consecutive round where Angelina was dishonest to you about the vote so I'm really hoping you decide at this point that working closely with Angelina isn't the best path forward. I was going to target Angelina this round no matter what and Fred and Pomfrey were itching to do the same so if you were still telling me you wanted use to work with Angelina I probably would have had to approach draco to take Ron's place in the Fred/Pomfrey/Mira/Ron alliance and do the same plan of using the idol to ensure Angelina goes home so the four of us could gain a majority. With hindsight, I now know that Draco would have been willing to do that and that group of four could have used the heir prize to get a majority and ride it for a bit.
But I'm going to assume you would have become open to an Angelina vote at that point. I would have made it my top priority to reconcile you and Fred/Pomfrey to convince them we could rely on you for the vote. But they would have been pretty cautious. I would have waited to reveal my idol to anyone until I could be certain you were loyal and without doing that I wouldn't have an argument to make for why Draco should be left out of the vote. So Draco and you would both be included in the plan to vote Angelina, and Fred would use the heir prize to petrify Angelina. We would all end up voting together and Angelina goes home 5-3.
F8
Without Angelina around, I would feel infinitely better about making long-term plans with you. And I would try to make Fred/Pomfrey/Mira/Max a thing. No one trusted Draco much at the time and even though he would have just voted with us, I would want to make it pretty clear that he wasn't in my F4 plans so that you, Fred and Pomfrey would feel comfortable that I wasn't going to pull something crazy in the next few rounds.
For the vote, I would still push for Amos to be the target. He hadn't talked to me for several rounds and was a potential immunity threat so I just wanted him out of the way. We wouldn't have the heir prize, so it would also be a good decision to put the vote on the person we knew Draco wanted to vote for. Amos goes home.
F7
There's a chance someone tries to shake something up here, but Lily wasn't in anyone's end-game plans and there was concerns she might still have the cloak. I would push for her like I did in the real game and I think everyone would still be on board. She tried to scramble targeting Draco and that still wouldn't work here. Lily goes home.
F6
This is where things might go down differently. With people thinking I had a vote switcher, Draco/Cormac/Pomfrey thought they needed Ron to vote out me or Fred and Ron didn't want to pull the trigger. Ron did have influence in voting out Cormac, but I think there's a consensus that that was probably the wrong move for him.
You, however, never shied away from making a bold move and I think you would have realized I was a threat at this point and considered making a resume building move here by targeting either Pomfrey, me or Fred. Thankfully, I came second to Ron in this immunity challenge and either me or you would have won that immunity challenge without him playing. If you won, I was using the Slytherin idol on myself 100% and voting for Cormac. If I won, I would use my Slytherin idol on whoever was being targeted between Fred/Pomfrey to make sure that Cormac goes home. So it would have been an eventful round, but Cormac still most likely goes home.
F5
I still pretend I have a useable vote switcher, but I win immunity so it isn't very relevant. I'm assuming Fred doesn't fight a vote against him again and I would want him out again - he was probably a bigger immunity threat than anyone else here (Pomfrey was pretty similarly good at challenges, but I thought there was a chance I could still convince someone that Pomfrey was a bigger jury threat than me and force a tie if neither of us won immunity). Fred goes home.
F4
I win immunity again! Pomfrey is still my target as a jury threat and you and Draco would side with me for that vote. Pomfrey is still final juror.
So it goes pretty similar, except I get to sit with you here instead of Ron and my french practicing doesn't get completely abandoned. Maybe he was saying something different in his chats with Fred and Pomfrey that they can speak to, but in my experience Ron was not really picking the targets through the merge and the person I wanted to target (who was often the person we all wanted to target) was pretty much always the person I voted for for the entire game. The only times I can think of where Ron and I had strong disagreements about who should be targeted were the Snape and the Newt vote. On the Snape vote, Draco wanted to vote Amos, I wanted to vote Snape and Ron was determined to vote Lockhart, but Draco and I overruled him and he had to vote with us for Amos and Snape. And on the Newt vote he voted for Lily all by himself.

Question for all. Relate each juror to an exhibit in the Louvre. |
BEST QUESTION EVER! I've been looking through the catalog of Louvre exhibits for a day now and Draco's responses were pretty great so I've got my work cut out for me to top that.
POMFREY
Portrait of Madame Charles-Louis Trudaine, née Marie-Louise Micault de Courbeton (1769-1802), formerly known as Portrait of Madame Chalgrin, née Vernet by Jacques-Louis David
Madame Charles-Louis Trudaine was a gorgeous french socialite, and a member of the "haute bourgeoisie." A lot of care went into this painting, as anyone would with a subject as charming as yourself, but I deliberately chose an unfinished portrait for you (Political complications stopped this painting from being finished). Going out at 4 left your story tantalizingly close to being finished and just like this painting you were incredibly close to perfection. I hope you get to finish your masterpiece in all-stars.
FRED
The Old Louvre
Fred gets to be compared with the building itself, which I firmly believe is one of the most magnificent pieces of art in the entire complex. While other pieces of art inside may get moved around from place to place the building is always reliably there, right where you expect it. It is a beautiful and impressive structure which provides the conditions to elevate the artwork inside of it to the mythical status that the Louvre carries as the greatest place for art.
CORMAC
The Law Code of Hammurabi - Babylonian artifact
A symbol of wisdom and one of the earliest monuments to sober second thought, the Law Code of Hammurabi seems like a good choice for someone who thought through their actions and gave a measured response. I've even noticed Cormac paying very close attention to this FTC which is a mark of a good judge (or juror).
LILY
Virgin on the Rocks by Leonardo da Vinci
One of the greatest ever paintings of a mother with her children, this is the only choice for Lily. Even in the harsh environment of an ORG, she is making sure her children are safe and sound and loved. Notably, the original version of this painting was displayed flanked by panels of angels, but the angels no longer accompany the painting. I take this as symbolic of her separation from Angel-ina and the painting is only truly complete when they are re-united.
AMOS
Portrait of Louis-François Bertin by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres
First of all, the resemblence is uncanny. But Louis-François was also a pretty quietly influential guy. As a newspaper editor, he invented the feuilleton, which was the first stand-alone newspaper section devoted to critics, epigrams (brief, pithy satirical statements) and the pre-cursor to modern newspaper word games like the cryptogram. Amos had plenty of his own pithy criticisms throughout the game and he was the first to solve the Ravenclaw Idol cryptogram.
ANGELINA
Cleopatra Dying by François Barois
Angelina could only ever be depicted as a Queen and Cleopatra is one of the greatest Queens of all. She tirelessly fought to increase her power with making alliance after alliance with key figures in the Roman Empire and using her incredible social skills to seduce the most powerful men in the Mediterranean. For a while it looked like nothing could stop her, but here we see her about to be bit by a snake-shaped idol.
MAXIME
Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix
In this painting, Liberty is both a goddess and a woman of the people. She is a proud leader who rejects oppression and is determined to champion her cause against any odds. In this painting depicting the end of the F11 round, Lockhart is the pantless corpse you are about to step on. I think it is only appropriate that your painting is one of the most iconic of the Romantic movement. It is also considered a possible inspiration for the musical
Les Misérables which might be an apt name for our minority alliance at that point in time.
LOCKHART
Attis by an unknown Roman sculptor
Actual description of the artwork from the Louvre website:
|
This bronze statuette, formerly in the Crown collections, represents Attis, the Phrygian god who was Cybele's lover. He is wearing an oriental costume: a tunic strewn with copper- and silver-incrusted designs, and "anaxyrides" (slashed breeches) attached to the legs by small round buckles. The unusual arrangement of the garment, which stands wide open, revealing the belly and genitals, evokes the orgiastic nature of the myth in which Attis emasculated himself in a mad frenzy. |
Stylish orgiastic god prone to mad frenzies? Honestly, you had me at "god" but the rest works too.
NEWT
Solomon Sacrificing to the Idols by Sébastien Bourdon
Solomon was led astray by a wife and had to sacrifice a lot for idols that weren't even of his own religion. I feel I'm the wife in our partnership and my idols forced Newt to make sacrifices that really cost him. If I hadn't grabbed the Gryffindor idol, his game probably would have gone a lot farther and I feel bad that he paid the price for my ambition.
I know I spent a lot of time on this, but it was such a great idea and I kept wanting to keep looking and looking for better options. This FTC has taken a lot of energy but having this task to end with has given me life and given me a chance to finish the game doing something fun (which is great because I always tell myself I play these things for fun, despite the stressful moments). Merci Maxime !
