Trying to get through these one at a time in the order that they are posted and you're up next...

...but its 230am and I'm realizing I have a lot of things I want to say here so I'm going to have to make this my first priority whenever I wake up tomorrow!

I slept in until 1pm but It's finally time for this and it's going to be long!

Mira, when I play these games sometimes I get a gut feeling about someone right away that makes me see them as the person who is going to win. Coming in as a last minute cast nearly a full day after people had already been talking I wasn't expecting to get very deep but you quickly became someone I knew I wanted to work with but was terrified to work with at the same time.

I really can't give you enough credit for coming in so late after missing days of open communication and still managing to impose your will on the season. You were a fierce competitor from the moment you entered the game and I can't imagine this game this game without you in it. I pretty quickly had a similar gut feeling about you, and I knew I wanted to work with you, not against you because you were going to give 110%.

I should apologize to Ced for thinking he was an idiot for making an instagram account with a riddle that was not solvable. I can't even be mad because your strategy took up so much of my time and distracted me from the actual game. I am seriously impressed.

LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO+

I'm sorry, the old Mirabella can't come to the phone right now.
Why?
Because I'm DEAD at this XD

Glad to see the account had it's intended effect :) A big part of why I pulled it out at merge was because I knew you would be looking for revenge for the Snape vote and I wanted to give you a distraction away from looking for the Slytherin idol and rallying votes against me. I was also hoping that sharing the link would make it look like I still trusted you and you would think you had a leg up on me.

Cedric hates me for this by the way. I'm pretty sure you weren't the only one giving him a hard time for the "clues" on there and bugging him to check your confessionals for guesses. Much love to him for having to spend a lot more time than he had planned answering people's item questions on slack.

My question for you is, did you ever really see me as an ally?

Oh my, this is a complicated question for me :p

From the very start of the game I saw Pomfrey as the biggest threat in the game, and you pretty quickly joined her at the top once I realized everything was going through you on our original tribe. I think the first time we discussed the Hufflepuff idol, you already either already knew or quickly learned the guesses of Maxime, Snape, Newt, Lily and Amos and I was very impressed but there were also alarm bells going off in my head that you were very quickly developing tons of relationships.

But the fact that I considered you a threat from the start honestly only made me want to work with you more. I was pretty determined to eventually get on Pomfrey's side in the same way. I had already grabbed the Gryffindor idol and I knew I intended to play a high visibility game so I had every reason to want to keep other visible players around in order to reduce the target on my own back.

Snape was an obstacle to that though. I really did try to reach out to him, but I clearly was unable to make things up with him in the long run after I took the idol he wanted. I knew the two of you were close and you might have to pick a side if he went after me, and that worried me a lot. When you got swapped onto a tribe with him and without me, I got even more worried that you would side with him instead of me when a choice had to be made. And when I ended up on a tribe with Snape where Snape was openly trying to put the vote on me, I was forced to rally an alliance against him. I knew you would be upset he went home and you would hold me responsible for it so when merge hit I didn't have any faith that you would be loyal to me. I shared the instagram link with you to make you think I still trusted you but I was very skeptical of the alliance Maxime tried to put together that round from the start and I knew it would be hard to get back together with you unless a big shake-up made you reconsider your position in the game in a major way.

In a world without Snape, everything could have gone differently though. I was definitely open to working with you and I think it would have been a lot of fun with the amount of effort and sheer enthusiasm we both put into this game.

Alright, the thing I would like for you all to do for me is to tell me one memorable conversation or interaction that you each personally had with each of the jurors and also compliment one thing about their game play. The only rule is that you cannot answer this about me!

Pomfrey

OMFG this has to be the World Peace and Unification Sanctuary conversation.

Posted Image

I was absolutely exhausted having this conversation on a train the morning after I'd done the 24+ hour Slytherin idol marathon and it pretty much felt like the funniest conversation I'd ever had at the time. I'm not sure if you were like what the fuck is this fish going on about, and I wouldn't judge you if you were but this church wears bullet crowns and demands that all members constantly smile at 4am. It was so ludicrous. I'm really glad we adopted their practice of smile bombing and randomly attacked each other with smiley faces.

As for a compliment, Pomfrey's social game is god-tier. Every conversation I had with her was so comfortable and that was the experience that most people had with her. She was chosen as the likely winner of the game at majority rules but I still don't think she received a single vote against until F4 and I think that's largely because of how good a relationship she was able to build with pretty much the entire cast.

Fred

Fred and I had so many memorable chats, but the moment I truly realized we were a match made in heaven was when we discovered our mutual interest/obsession with Utah geography. Realizing we both were sitting in front of our posters of the same National Park and had almost identical phone screensavers of Arches was actually scary. It was so random and so eerie and it completely blew my mind.

Fred's game was so SMART. He weighed everything before making his decisions and did an incredible job of cycling back to communicate the reasons behind his decisions when he voted differently or left me in the dark on a vote. It's not only difficult to do that, but it also takes an enormous amount of emotional maturity and control to be able to have intelligent, unemotional discussions with people on the other side of a vote without appearing condescending. It's a rare skill and he has it.

Cormac

We didn't talk enough, although we did have a few fun conversations. Right now, the last chat we had before Cormac was voted out is what stands out to me though. It was a really honest discussion about the meta-game and even though it was brief, I loved that he reached out and we had the opportunity end our time together in a place of mutual respect. Cormac was always a class act.

Cormac was severely underrated as a game player. At F8 and F7 his name NEVER came up despite the fact that there was no surface reason why he should have been in a different place in the game than Lily and Amos. He was able to develop relationships with people on the other side of the vote that made people want him to stay around and be an option for them in the end game. Although things didn't quite come together for him at F6, he was a great scrambler and fought to the very end with a very impressive tenacity.

Lily

Our two-person Chris Pratt fandom was quite an experience, and the one thing that keep going even when we got split up and weren't interacting much about strategy. It was nice to know that regardless of what else was going on in the game I could always rely on you to find a new cute gif this gem of a human being:

I have a ton of respect for the positivity Lily brought to the game. She wasn't here to backstab and betray and sometimes that meant that she was going to talk to you a bit less when you were targeted because she didn't want to lead you on. She always acted honorably and sympathetically no matter how stressful the game got. If this was actually her first game, coming 7th is incredibly impressive and she's only going to get better at this.

Amos

the Not-At-All-Headless Nick debacle is still one of the greatest moments of the season to me and we got several rounds of joke mileage out of that mess. When the two of us experienced that trainwreck live it was a really special moment and when we went into our private chat and were both like IS THIS FOR REAL, I think both of us were dying of laughter. R.I.P. Nick, all we knew about him was that he had a head and that he made a picture of said head his slack profile picture.

Amos was a hard worker - his effort in that early posting challenge was tireless and I could tell from our chats early that he was very dedicated to this game, while also wanting to have fun with it. He and lockhart were a great fit because they both were willing to be bold and put a lot of effort reaching their objectives.

Maxime

When we first started talking and we just seamlessly transitioned into an entirely different language it gave me LIFE. I was really worried that devoting my time to this game would kill my french practicing schedule (it did in the end) to the point where I had an actual dream days before check-ins where I was playing this ORG with a bunch of french players and desperately trying to scramble for a vote in a second language. When we started speaking in french it was incredibly comforting and you would become my security blanket that I would cling to for warmth throughout the pre-merge.

Maxime was an incredibly ambitious player, always looking for ways to advance her position in the game and I had a ton of respect for her persistence in pursuing the opportunities that she saw in any situation. Even when we were on the wrong side of the vote she would instantly come back with new plans and see a strategic silver lining for how she could turn bad into good.

Lockhart

There's so much I could choose for this, and your sex palace is very tempting, but I'm going with the very real conversation we had when you realized you was going home. In many ways, Lockhart and I are kindred spirits and we shared our enthusiasm for making things fun in that chat. We were a missed connection up until that point and I salivate to think of the shenanigans we could have gotten up to if we had had a chance to truly work together, but in that moment we were able to talk honestly and it was great to have that moment.

I give Lockhart all the points in the world for his creative gameplay. I pride myself on coming up with ideas for how to play ORGs that haven't been done before but Lockhart found some crazy tactics that I couldn't even have conceived of. He bucked the conventional wisdom of how to be successful in an ORG and he had an opportunity to get very far doing it.

NEWT

I think we had my favourite beginning to any ORG relationship I've ever had when I posted this to start our first conversation

Posted Image

And he said "I've certainly gotten better!" (and we proceeded to discuss monty python)

I find open communications games the most stressful experience and that was the first time in the entire game that I got away from feeling stressed and just paused to beam from ear to ear. It was a great moment for me to remember that I'm in this to have fun and I need to allow myself to slow down and enjoy the opportunity to create new relationships with an entire cast of people I would probably never get the chance to meet and get to know in real life.

Newt always was someone I thought would be considered an "edgic contender". If it wasn't for our perceived closeness, it seemed likely that he wouldn't have been anyone's biggest target and would have been able to be the type of player that everyone thinks could be a potential ally. I have to compliment his ability to find the right visibility level to be liked without being feared and I expect he is the type of person who has probably had a lot of past success in other games because this is a conventional formula for success.

Finally, I would also like you to post your favorite Snape mem or gif just for fun!

There was a lot of drama about me stealing Snape's idol, but not enough about me stealing his heir!

I also love this gif though

OKAY ONE MORE ANSWER

Angelina @ 16/3/2018 16:06
Oh one more thing...

Who was negging my rep all season... time to fess up ya weirdos!

Cormac McLaggen @ 16/3/2018 16:33
Yeah, really who gave me so much undeserved positive rep?

Posted Image

As you can probably tell by now, strategic reasoning goes into pretty much everything I do so let me explain this.

First of all, it's pretty much impossible to figure out who is messing with reps and it can sometimes throw people off so I love playing with them and generally think its a fun strategy to use that doesn't carry a lot of risk to my game. Generally I mess with rep for someone not on my tribe so people don't suspect me and if they get paranoid it will just cause people on other tribes to be wary of their tribemates.

Cormac

There was a pretty easy reason for this. My initial rankings of who I thought might be the most likely threats to win it all that I made during check-ins had Pomfrey as #1 and you as #2. You seemed to have talked to a lot of people and left positive impressions after checking in early so I felt you were one to watch.

Pomfrey and I had already had some great chats, so I decided not to plus her, but I plussed we hadn't had a particularly positive or negative interaction so I didn't think you would suspect I was doing it and I plussed you a lot to put some attention on you. People tend to do a double-take when someone has +20 rep and wonder who they might be close to who is doing it so I thought it might throw off some peoples' read on the game dynamics regarding you. No idea if this worked or not.

Angelina

I started negging you a little later. I don't think I was the first to do it, but I definitely piled on a lot. I think I started doing it in earnest around the Rita and Dudley vote but I ddin't note the I was starting to do it in my confessional so I can't tell you the actual date I did it. It wasn't a reaction to anything specific you had done though. I knew you were very intensely immersed in the game so you would notice it and wonder about who was doing it. And I just really hoped you would begin to wonder if it was someone on your tribe. As I mentioned earlier, I was worried about you being on a tribe with Snape and Amos because you might choose them over me to work with and I thought that if there was an outside chance I could make you worry that one of them was negging you it would help me later on. Again, I have no idea if it worked, but it seems you didn't figure out it was me so it was a pretty low risk tactic that didn't really hurt me to try!
