I've made some great friends!
Our couple name is "RUBELLA" which he doesn't realize is a type of measles
None of them are on my tribe!
IDK MY TRIBE NAME BUT INSERT IT HERE
I'm sure I got picked quite high by Madame Maxime. We do get along and she doesn't seem to be very connected with others. Glad I made a point of connecting with the late check-ins.
However, she seems to have only connected with me and the late check-ins so its basically a tribe of keeners versus our tribe of slackers.
Honestly, if I had to make an early list of contenders it would go like this:
1. Madam Pomfrey (probably also has an idol)
2. Cormac McLaggen (trying to + him to an early demise rn)
3. Rita Skeeter
4. Draco Malfoy
5. Fred Weasley
6. Lily Potter
7. Newt Scamander
8. Gilderoy Lockhart
9. Amos Diggory
10. Rubeus Hagrid
11. Madame Olympe Maxime
12. Angelina Johnson
13. Ron Weasley
14. Minerva McGonagal
15. Zardulu
16. Severus Snape
17. Dudley Dursley
18. Albus Dumbledore
Pretty heavily weighted towards the other tribe and yet the worst player (albus) is on the other tribe so there's not even a super obvious first boot here.
I'd be well placed on the other tribe with allies and lots of ways to cause trouble with gamebots (cough FRED), but I don't need to panic here. I have to trust that Olympe sees me as a close ally and she chose this tribe so the first alliance will almost guaranteed revolve around her and her top choices.
I feel really good about Angelina now that I've talked with her more and I think Lily might want to work with us too but that only makes four. Newt will probably be more active tomorrow and be the most likely #5 but I don't know how others feel about him.
Sadly Severus is the next most active but he's actively being an asshole to everyone so far. Amos is kinda dismissive to me all the time but I don't think he's doing that to other people so I'm most worried he might be dangerous to my game.
McGonagall and Dudley not active enough yet to be sure where they stand (Dudley is a complete dud).

THE POTIONS MASTER
Okay what the actual fuck is going on with Severus. I think he might be schticking but if he is it's a complete misunderstanding of who Snape is. He's playing as if Snape was a depressed and self-pitying whiner when Snape's most important quality is his stoicism and repression of emotions.
He screamed at me for having the gall to post for the idol several times:
And constantly complained and called people out while we were trying to watch the first harry potter movie as a bonding thing.
And now i have to play chess with him because it's the only thing anyone's said to him that he hasn't dismissed out of hand.
Besides being unpleasant bordering on abusive, it's also idiotic and pointless. He's not forming relationships or doing anything to advance his game other than idol hunting. And if he really signed up to play for 5 days worth of schtick it's incredible to think he wanted to put in this much effort for a schtick this lazy and terrible.

IDOL HANDS ARE THE DEVIL'S PLAYTHINGS
So we got the big twist reveal with clues about 4 hidden idols and it was clear that the ravenclaw one would be hidden. I did 100% expect it to be in a future post but I still focused in on that one right away to try to find it.
I thought maybe the "go back" part of the riddle could potentially refer to last season so i quickly checked for any sign the hosts had added anything to the board since last season's reunion (they hadn't).
But I realized others might have this idea so I figured I would give them a little hope and train them to be the obedient slaves I know they can be!
So I conspicuously made a very subtly named new profile with the first clue from the books I could think of in the signature:
And then I went and napped.
A myth is a good myth only if others will tell the story for you. If it's accessible and believable, people will share it with their allies. And once people share it, their belief in the validity of the myth becomes more fervent and they will defend it from skeptics.
I only showed the profile to one person, and that was late in the evening. More people told me they had found it than were told by me. And anyone can make a profile on the old board so even the person who found the idol and may be suspicious can't really trace it back to me.
And that's how I can wield more influence over the game while sleeping than Severus can wide awake.
Maybe I should have pushed this one more though. While I think some people would still be checking every post for clues regardless, it probably helped my chances of getting the Ravenclaw idol that a bunch of people were convinced it was on the old board.
The reality is that it's too greedy to expect two idol grabs in one night. When the tribe camp with the ravenclaw clue was posted I was prepping posts for the Gryffindor idol and then I got really hyped when I snagged that one publicly so it took me a little bit of time to check the tribe post.
And then I did the worst cryptogram solve attempt of my life. I think I was too jittery from the other idol find and couldn't settle down to think straight. At least I was able to determine that the idol had been taken within 2 hours and eliminate from contention everyone who wasn't on the board during that time period.
As for the idol I actually have I don't have any plans yet (or do I?). If I can get in a majority alliance and there's some easy votes, there's no reason why a
rational player would have to use it right away.
