~*Ron’s Answer to Newt’s Questions*~
Ronny Boi! I feel like I talked to you a LOT in this game but I don't think that I ever really got to know you. I enjoyed some of our jokes and mindless chats but I don't think we ever really got past any surface talk, even when it came to strategy. I am also disappointed that you never changed your Ron picture on Slack to the picture of Ron from the Cursed Child so you lost like three points there too. SO SHAME ON YOU? Anyways, what I get from your FTC appearance so far is that you're selling that you tried to not make genuine connections with anyone and were being intentionally two-faced. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

I feel the same Newt! I think I always had my guard up with you, as I still did not know your involvement (if any) in Rita’s exit and me being left out of that vote. I didn’t know if opening with game plans in detail at the state of pre-merge where we were voting Snape, and/or Final 12, was needed for me until I knew more about where you stood in the game. As for the cursed child Ronald; Ew no! LOL
I would like to correct your comments a bit, as that isn’t what my intention has been. I have made genuine connections with a lot of this cast, at least I thought I did. I thought I was well bonded and had fun in this game with them, and that was not fake or two-faced. I also never blatantly was trying to allow people to think I was two-faced in the game. I got here with 0 votes cast against me, and I think if people were catching on to the game I played with Pomfrey/Fred I wouldn’t have been able to say that. I think the two-faced is part of my social game. It is the way that I bond, by talking about others’. I can find out what gets back to someone else. After a while, I understood relationships enough to know if I told Pomfrey xyz, I should probably be telling Fred xyz so he doesn’t find out from her and not me. Same with Lily/Angelina, or if I told Angelina something—Pomfrey was in the known, because Pomfrey would have been told by Angelina. I understood the development of bonds to not make a mistake that would have looked two-faced when they were in the game. Hope that makes sense. Feel free to ask me a question or something if it doesn’t.




Since you were very adamant that this is not the final 3 you wanted, my question for you is, if you could go back and replay this merge knowing everything you know now, what would be your ideal boot order?

My ideal boot order would be exactly how it was, other then when we reached Final 6. Final 6 I would have, knowing what I know now, voted out Mirabella. What I know now that is changing that is that Mira’s item was fake(vote swapper). My other thing is the lack of respect I have from the jury. I did not think my gameplay was going to hurt people as much as it seemed to have, and been misunderstood. With this knowledge, I am perhaps thinking that a Cormac/Draco/Ron final 3 would have been more ideal.
Another thing I know now is Mira was going to win the Final 5 and Final 4 immunity challenges—which I did not expect at the Final 6.

So, this is what we would have:

At the final 5, I was 2nd place in the challenge(one point from winning this). If we said Cormac won or I won this, regardless. I would have targeted Fred or Pomfrey. I would have pushed for Fred to go, as I previously stated of not knowing where Fred/Cormac’s relationship was at. It was always a ? in my mind.

Ideally, Cormac/Draco/Myself would have won the FIC and voted out Pomfrey as a trio. If Pomfrey won the final IC, I would hope my bond with Draco would have been enough to tie this vote, possibly 3-1 if Pomfrey wasn’t thinking the same as me in that F4 situation. I think Pomfrey may have wanted Cormac to go, and Draco/Me in the end per our conversations, but I could also see it where she may have wanted Cormac/Draco..and I would have had to work my bonds with Draco to at least tie it in that case of Pomfrey winning the FIC.

Let me know if you need me to highlight any other round in more detail, but anything prior to Final 6 was how I would have wanted the game to turn out.



My last question for all of you to sort the jurors into a Hogwarts house. I don't need an explanation because I don't want to turn this into a giant comparison question. So just a name and their house will suffice. (Unless you feel inclined to say more but I'm not giving bonus points for that!!)

Draco! Hello! I enjoyed talking to you when you were around but I think you had a bit of reputation for being MIA for long periods of time. (We probably have that in common). From my point of view, I enjoyed talking to you over a large majority of the cast and I wish we had more time to bond throughout the game. I think from what I've seen, people have seen you as kind of a follower in this game which I really can't disagree with because I didn't really see anything in your Opening Statement that gave much insight into moves that you made outside keeping up your schtick and voting wrong. So, my question for you is, what moment in this game are you most proud of and why?

I'm going to go back in time, the Snape vote, I understand hey, that's Final 13 but I was really proud of that. We were so worried about items, idols, splitting.... Snape and I, while he tried pulling me in for the vote, acted like he thought he intimidated me, (in fact he said that) I had tried being friendly but his character got in the way, and like Cormac mentioned, like I didn't want to take shit in an ORG, if you're acting like you've got a problem lets talk about it. And Snape and I talked a lot about it a lot. He really put himself on the line for a second and I had tried bartering with him about the vote, but it was his way or the highway and I told him to pack up his 2003 Nissan Xterra and hit the highway. I felt like it was also a bonding experience for mira, Ron, you and I.

I also loved the round I won wizard chess, I'll credit a lot of it to luck but I don't win many challenges often so that felt amazing.

I don't see how I was much of a follower. I expressed my opinion every round and apart from following Maxime blindly out of panic, I followed through with what I said I'd do. I was on a path set for the end as long as my friends were around and I was able to move independently and try and shake things up later on, that didn't work unfortunately but although my game would be stronger if they did happen... I don't think they're going to discredit my game because they didn't, I reached out and was willing to do something. Even during the Amos vote, although it was incredibly easy and I'm sure Lily was talking to multiple people, but everyone was leaning to voting her over Amos, it was changed in an hour, I'm sure that wasn't all Draco as much as I'd like it to be, and it was obvious Amos was my choice target anyway, I was always open to being an independent floater and I think thats what I was apart from a follower. I think I just happened to be in a good spot with Ron, Pomfrey, Cormac, Mira and Fred.


My last question for all of you to sort the jurors into a Hogwarts house. I don't need an explanation because I don't want to turn this into a giant comparison question. So just a name and their house will suffice. (Unless you feel inclined to say more but I'm not giving bonus points for that!!)

I had the relationships to get me further and had the floater independence to be written off as a non threat so that I could strut my stuff, state my intentions, proceed with them and then make it to the end. Fish! I'm pretty sure I died at the merge vote because people assumed I was close with you. And while I did consider you one of the more fun people in the cast and someone I wanted to work with, I don't ever think we got to the point of being a tight pair. I'm very impressed to see you here, especially after the hell you went through just to get out of the pre-merge part of this game. You had an uphill battle and you fought it hard so props to you. My question to you is, how much of our alliance was built on actual bonding and how much was built out of necessity of surviving Snape's wrath?

It was weird how universal that perception of us as a tight pair was. I spoiled my answer for this a bit in Cormac's thread, but no, I don't think our relationship had reached that level before your boot occurred, although it may have later if things had gone differently in that boot round. I just went back to my confessional to look at what I wrote for the two rounds on that pre-merge tribe and I'll try to give as close a description as I can about how I was thinking about you as that alliance was formed.

After the swap

I really wasn't very excited for our new tribe (from my confessional: "I just want to make it to merge and forget this tribe ever existed."):
- Amos and Snape were the people I had connected with the least on our first tribe
- Draco and I were okay with each other but Maxime and Fred were my two closest allies in the game so he was the weakest connection I had on my second tribe
- I hadn't been on a tribe yet with Lockhart or Ron
- And I liked you but we hadn't talked strategy and I had no idea if you would pick to work with Snape and Amos over me if Snape targeted me (as he was promising to do).

I knew I was in a precarious spot if a tribal council were to happen, and I didn't have anyone I could 100% rely on so my top priorities were to reinforce my relationship with Draco (who had previously mentioned liking Snape during checkins and had me worried) and reconnect with you hoping that at least one of you would be able to help my figure out the dynamics of all these other people on the tribe I hadn't really had a chance to talk to much before. So I did instinctively want to work with you and I absolutely felt you were one of the people on that tribe that I felt closest with. But that was a pretty low bar to clear.

As soon as I started talking to Snape, the first thing he said was that he picked me for his tribe specifically so that he could vote me out before the merge. Which has to be one of the most terrifying things you can hear after a swap in an ORG. Here was someone that just been given the power to pick everyone who was on their tribe, presumably picked a bunch of people they felt they were closest with, and now was comfortable enough with the situation they were in to openly say they were targeting you. It makes you think there might already be a majority planning to vote you out and it makes you want to scramble like crazy to stop it.

So I was kicked into strategic high gear almost immediately after the swap and making sure you and Draco were willing to work with me felt like an absolute necessity. Lockhart and Ron were still openly fighting about the Rita vote and Lockhart was acting like Lockhart in the tribe chat so Ron looked like a potential outsider who might side with us as well. I basically needed that entire group of 4 to come together to have any chance at a majority in a vote. Regardless of how much I'd bonded with or trusted the three of you, I would have had to do my best to make that alliance work. At the time, I liked you and you were pretty convincing when you told me you were on board so I trusted you too and it made you the easiest person in that group to work with.

At Merge

Maxime and Fred were still my two closest friends and allies in the game, but you and Ron were the next two people I trusted most. When it became obvious we were not in the majority for the vote, I figured either you or Ron would probably go home and I was hoping to solidify things with whoever was left and work with them deep into the game. It turned out you were the target and Ron stayed, and the two of us went pretty far together. There's no way to tell if you and I would have gotten to the same place in an alternate universe, but I certainly would have been willing to work with you indefinitely.

Yay a Hogwarts question! There's a good chance I would have been trying to ask this one if I was on the jury.



NEWT - RAVENCLAW
I'd forgotten Newt himself was a Huffelpuff until I just looked it up, but I have to buck this trend and agree with ron that you get Ravenclaw for your wit and smarts and also for your Ravenclaw-like enthusiasm for collecting knowledge on the Harry Potter series.


LOCKHART - SLYTHERIN
Lolling that Lockhart was a Ravenclaw in canon. But both this Lockhart and book Lockhart should be ambitious Slytherins


MAXIME - GRYFFINDOR
Maxime was definitely courageous and action-oriented, always preferring to take immediate action when confronted with a problem


ANGELINA - GRYFFINDOR
Angelina was a brave and daring leader, who didn't let obstacles get in her way.


AMOS - SLYTHERIN
Amos, snape and lockhart made a great team and I wouldn't want to separate them. All three have the cunning and resourcefulness to accomplish great things.


LILY - HUFFLEPUFF
Lily was loyal and empathetic. She preferred solving problems with kindness over confrontation and had plenty of love to share with everyone who needed it.


CORMAC - RAVENCLAW
Cormac was creative and clever. He made moves because they were smart and rational.


FRED - RAVENCLAW
Fred is intelligent and a wise strategist who thinks first. Also, I think I'm a ravenclaw and I would love to get up to mischief with him in the Ravenclaw common room.


POMFREY - GRYFFINDOR
I can see the argument for putting Pomfrey in any house. I went with Gryffindor because Gryffindor is the house that tends to have the most hogwarts students share the attributes of other houses. Harry has the ambition of a Slytherin and abilities like Parseltongue. Ron and Neville have the loyalty of Hufflepuffs. And Hermione has the thirst for knowledge of a Ravenclaw. But all of those characters are in Gryffindor because they are destined to become leaders.
While Pomfrey is hard-working, intelligent and ambitious, she is also a leader and that will trump the other attributes to land her in Gryffindor.


ALBUS - was found to be a squib at the sorting ceremony (just like Angus Buchanan), got sent to Smeltings and was never heard from again
