So, you know, like - A TON of strategy stuff happened tonight. Like, A TON. And I’ll make a point to type something reflecting all that goodness up at some point, because I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t do my mandatory “strategy chess gamebot” confessionals. (Incidentally, how fucking cool is it that Spencer said gamebot on the show the other night? SURVIVORS GETTING META FOLKS!) But, I wanted to take a second to talk about like, my experiences in this game.

Because, quite honestly, I’m honestly having an awesome time.

I think a big part of ORGs, for a lot of us, is the social bonds we create. That’s certainly not unilaterally the case, but like, it’s a really awesome part of it. And I’ve just had a blast getting to know people in this game.

The other night, I was chatting with Rob. I don’t think he wants me airing his personal stories, but suffice it to say a friend of his got hurt, and he was blaming himself for it. And like, I felt like we had an awesome, genuine moment - I related my own experiences, when I inadvertently caused my mom nerve damage.

(For those curious, I had been planning to stay overnight at a friend’s house, decided to head home because, y’know, antisocial fuck. My sister picked me up, got home, yada yada yada. My mom comes home from work, and goes to look in the driveway to see if my sister’s cars there, so she knows we got home safe. But, she trips over this stupid fucking stump THAT IS STILL IN OUR FRONT YARD MIND YOU and did some significant damage to her arm. She’s doing fine now, don’t worry, but it was a months, and by months I mean seasons, long process, and I still worry that there’s some permanent effects.)

At any rate, blaming yourself does more harm than good, and I honestly felt like, even if we’re playing some stupid internet game, it was something Rob appreciated, and it felt good. Hell, I even texted my mom, asking her to pray for a friend of a friend, because she’s the most adorable tiny religious woman ever - she’s asking for a name and stuff, and I’m just like “haha nope not explaining it this time.”

And it’s just like, that’s something ORGs can provide. To give another example, at the beginning of this game, I didn’t trust Caleb, and I didn’t think I had much in common with him. But being with him throughout this entire damn thing, he’s honestly the person I trust the most at this point, even when he has his moments of being a paranoid wreck. It reminds me of those odd friendships you see on the show - the Kenny/Crystal, Richard/Rudy, all that sort of stuff.

I’ve played with Rudy before, but getting to joke around with him has been a ton of fun. Same to Jaclyn, Kelly, a bunch of people. It’s just like - this is what you want from an ORG. On top of all the cool strategy planning I’m doing, which is a headache but always a fun thought experiment, I’m just having so much fucking fun, and I want to sincerly thank Jason (and I guess Matt) for putting all this together. If I go out this round (or any round for that matter) I’d be bummed, but this hasn’t been a waste of time for me - I’m having a fucking blast.

Holy CPP5, Batman!

But really, though, this was a delightful confessional, Grant, one of the most enjoyable of this game. And I've read Rob and Rudy's confessionals.
