After an unfortunately predictable phase 2 of the game where the weaker tribe got swallowed whole by the stronger tribe (to Meleager's credit they kept coming close and weren't blown out of the water), we finally have a ton of built up tension and wondering surfacing this round. Four people have never seen a tribal and don't have gauge where they truly stand, there are definitely lines drawn and people are going to be a bit more ballsy and can play less safe because tribe strength isn't a factor anymore, there's definitely some underlying annoyances/feuds surfacing and I can see Naomi and Lexi go different ways. Throw in Jessfather's idol and the upcoming challenge being The Genius challenge which will grant other people immunity, we could be in for a big boot to set the precedent of the merge ala Scully in Season 5. | |

more from casa de chris:
Chris, 10:13 PM
oh gosh lol lexi in her 3rd message to me is like "your girl helped me make it here!" so welp naomi has publicized that we were close
oh god this is gonna be a knockout challenge huh
welp time to throw
---
I know Chris is an obvious winner pick because he's in so many good books, but he needs to strike and make some subtle moves to cover his bases and put him in a good position. He hasn't really had any opportunity to show what kind of player he is going to be, but I feel like he's going to be more passive? I think if Chris plants seeds this could put Naomi in some trouble, but I'm not sold that Chris is going to plant those seeds to get, what would be, his baggage out.

I am just catching up on watching confessionals and I have heard many of the players say they don't think people watch them, but players when you read back through this you will know people watched. PS I have watched the majority of them and as a viewer it helps to know what is going though your guys heads since viewers don't see calls :) | |

Welcome to Jayden ranks the Endure: Somnium Pre-Merge! I'll update this to include the full season at some point. This is based purely on people as a character and their contributions to the season and not them personally or anything like that. This also doesn't take into account how long you lasted in the season, it's more just about entertainment value per round.
Ranking Characters!
#7
Amberly Brewster
17th Place
I actually really loved Amberly when she was participating! ... that just didn't really happen a whole lot in the 6 days she was in the game. She has fantastic meme status and I'll appreciate her for the Pirates of the Caribbean Online jokes, but I don't know if she really contributed anything more than that.
She probably would be higher if it weren't for the whole breaking-under-the-slightest-bit-of-pressure-and-throwing-off-the-whole-production-team-by-not-showing-up-to-your-boot-Tribal-Council thing that happened. It ruined the twist for that round and left a sour taste in my mouth. People work hard on these games you shouldn't just throw in the towel like that.
#6
Jenn Secular
15h Place
Okay, talk about untapped potential. Jenn should have been a force this season, but she really just could never get her feet out from underneath her. I actually credit a lot of Ceejae's boot to Jenn, for being the first person ballsy enough to throw out a name, and loved Jenn's confessionals throughout the season. But Jenn just never really had any sort of power after that so all she really had to offer up was great confessional content — which she thankfully delivered on.
Both times Jenn was at a Tribal Council she ended up in big blowups, but I was never really super entertained by them. The second blowup, mostly just left me a little uncomfortable as Naomi was really calmly able to deflect Hurricane Jenn with ease. Jenn just had a little bit of a weird arc and was kind of booted unceremoniously which is why she ranks so low, it's just hard to give her a real story besides being that person who blew up at Tribal twice.
#5
Kait Jensen
13th Place
I hate ranking her low, because I really do love Kait! She just never really got a chance to show off what she was capable of during her time. I looooved her duo with Abby but because of Lachesis' winning streak it never really amounted to anything significant, tragically. When she was swapped to Meleager she made it into the majority, but was just kind of a cog on the wheel until she was booted after a few small mistakes she made on the way.
Kait had tons of potential, it's just that when I try to think back on some good Kait moments from this season I draw blank. I would've loved to have seen her make it to the merge and I think she really could've done some damage, but if there was ever an UTR character from this season — it's unfortunately Kait.
#4
Aaron DeVault
16h Place
Okay I flat-out hated Aaron this season, lol. He just seemed over it from the get-go and wasn't putting in much effort. The complete apathy towards the game really bothered me and I didn't like that he was literally only being saved because of his pre-game ties to Jessaca, and the fact that had he made swap (bless King Devon that he didn't), he probably would've done really well because of said ties. We're blessed he was booted as early as he was.
The reason he's not last though, is because his arc is soooooooo good. Cocky douche gets blindsided the round he doesn't put any effort into the challenge? Delicious. His vote-off was the perfect blindside, he lasted the exact right amount of time in the game for him to be tolerable, and his boot set off a huge number of fireworks. Aaron actually contributed a lot to this season and I'm super grateful for it.
#3
Ceejae Gardiner
18th Place
I loved Ceejae! We were robbed! I thought she put in a great amount of effort in her last two days of the game and really enjoyed her on tribe calls and the works. Her blowup at Tribal worked for me in way that Jenn's never did, and that rant alone left me with so many fun and memorable quotes. "Suck everyone's asshole dry" for #1 obviously.
There's not a lot to talk about with Ceejae obviously, but I actually do understand her slip up and misunderstanding of the time commitments this game demands and find it totally excusable. I was never once let down with anything Ceejae did in the game and in my head she always #delivered.
#2
Jack Linnehan
12h Place
Ugh, my sweet prince. God I was terrified the first few rounds of this game because it's clear to say that Jack was not doing well at all. Those first few rounds were a poor look and if you ever told me that Jack would wind up being in a spot where he was one half of the duo that would end up running the pre-merge I never would've believed you.
From the swap onwards, Jack obviously began to shine. I looooved his confessionals and he always seemed to be doing something creative in them. Highlights include insisting that Anders has a small penis, and bragging about how he was guaranteed to make merge (that aged well whoops). Jack was definitely a flawed gameplayer, but flawed character he was not.
As DEVESTATING as his boot was this season, I do actually think it tied up his arc in a nice neat bow. It was really nice to see Jack's boot end up inducing such emotion in the viewers lounge (Episode 7 has the second most comments of any episode), and Jack being taken out right before the merge just leaves me in a place where I am wanting even more from Jack. The Revenge Tour certainly never took off in the way that he probably wanted, but the Redemption Tour sure was a huge success.

Devon Sampson
14h Place
My king! What. A. Character. God Devon went on suuuuch a journey in this game? It's crazy how much of a story arc Devon was able to have in a period of three Tribal Councils at Clotho. Devon went from the UTR mastermind, to the overeager trainbot, to the scorned backstabbed Clotho leftover all within the span of like a week. Devon put so much into this game and we were all blessed by his presence in it. The pre-swap was 100% the Devon show and nothing else in my mind.
I've run out of things to say because I've spoken about Devon so much on this board, but he was an A+ player and I hope he returns.
Ranking Episodes!
Okay I'm tired of doing write-ups but these I think were the most entertaining episodes from least to most:
#7: Episode 6 (Kait boot)
#6: Episode 2 (Amberly boot)
#5: Episode 5 (Devon blindside)
#4: Episode 1 (Ceejae boot)
#3: Episode 4 (Jenn boot)
#2: Episode 7 (Jack boot)
#1: Episode 3 (Aaron boot) | |

Chris is the greatest. His latest confessional talking about his insecurities makes me so damn sad and happy. Completely heartwrenching. I love this guy. He is an absolute all star - and Chris, for my money you would be an amazing fascinating reality tv character. You have SO MUCH NATURAL CHARISMA!
I seriously hope you after this game see how amazing you are at it, and for my money I'd rather listen to you be authentic than anyone screaming at a camera being fake. | |

Yeah, he'd never get on reality television but he's such a compelling character in the context of this game - i like people that are compelling characters more than people who are just nice or "yass kween slay" or whatever which makes him one of my favourites. | |

Yeah honestly I found that because Chris has been the "obvious winner" for so long I forgot just how genuinely captivating he is. I could listen to him talk forever. If I was in the game I'd either be F2 with him or going after him immediately because he's able to make people feel special.
He's a genuine treasure and I am beyond happy he is in the game and doing so well.
Matt's confessional was also super fun, imo! Very attentive to everything happening on the tribe, and I for one am back on the MattWagon! | |
