So because Dustin was truthful with Adrianne and she believes Jay over him, Dustin’s game may be over because of Jay too? Jay is beyond mad that Dustin told Adrianne that Jay probably had the idol (which is correct).
Adrianne has been on point with her awareness this game but she’s making a huge error right now.
I am obviously biased but I do think Dustin is doing everything right, but the alliance just doesn’t want to deal with it. It’s a shame but, shit happens.

THOTS AFTER EPISODE 3
A real big RIP goes out to Anders! Going into the season I was super excited to see what he'd bring to the season. I think his early exit is a reminder that there is a disconnect between watching the game from a production perspective and actually playing the game. I think Anders learned this the hard way tonight and Jacob might soon learn the same lesson. Nonetheless Anders was a great character and helped keep the Vecher tribe from following a relatively boring or predictable boot order. Hopefully we see him play more ORGs in the future!
Onto the tribes
Utren Tribe
|
SARENA
At this point I think Sarena is going to be in hot water on Utren for as long as the tribe exists. She's not in immediate danger as she has been working to establish some type of connections with people outside of Jacob and Andrew, but I think as long as those two boys are in the game she is going to be tied to them. I hope she makes it to the merge though, I would really be interested in seeing where she takes things in that situation. Plus she's too great of a confessional character to lose!
KILBY
I am incredibly shocked that Kilby's game has not blown up in his face yet. I partly attribute this to the Tony vote being pretty straightforward, but he plays with fire constantly. I do think he's started to play slightly less erratic and has solidified a side of people that he seems to be keen on working with. He recently messaged his prod chat his thoughts on whether he should start thinking of taking Jayden out though for some weird reason, which I don't think would be a good move for him in this moment. I can't wait to see how he handles the challenge and whether or not he will complete his idol tonight.
JAYDEN
I really enjoy his gameplay, I think he's been playing a pretty smart game thus far, and he appears to have positioned himself well within his tribe. Kilby is starting to place him on his radar though, and if he's not careful he might find that position shifting. I think once one of Jacob/Gibson/Sarena leaves we might start to see the early signs of fractures in the rest of the group that I think will ultimately lead to either Kilby or Jayden leaving.
JACOB
From the sounds of it (according to Kilby), the plan is to throw the challenge and take Jacob out in a blindside. I never understand the logic of throwing a challenge (tbt to season 2 when everyone on Gwale was trying to throw the last tribal challenge and take out Kim except me). Jacob is three rounds in and at this moment I don't foresee a way out for him, so I think the best logical move would be to keep winning and use him for the benefit of the tribe. I feel bad because I don't think he's got an inkling that he's got as big of a target as he does, all of his confessionals talk about trying to fade in the background but he's Utren's public enemy number one.
JENN
I really enjoy Jenn's confessional commentary on the game. I think ultimately she is the one who has the most power over whether Kilby will thrive or falter on the tribe. If she needs to she can easily leak to everyone that Kilby has the idol string and didn't tell anyone else, or she can keep his secret and stick close to him. Her powerful position on the tribe I think goes largely unnoticed at this point which is ideal for longevity in the game.
JOEY
Joey is doing a good job playing the middle, both sides firmly believe he is on their side. It's going to be
a dangerous one soon though, he's going to be betraying one of those alliances sooner or later (likely Sarena/Jacob/Andrew) and he's probably going to face some of the hardest backlash from it. I'm going to be interested to see how he maneuvers that situation when we get to it.
ANDREW
It was definitely smart of him to leave out the string part of the clue when he gave it to Sarena and Jacob, and this will kind of let him pick their brains with a decreased risk of them beating him to the idol. Too bad Kilby got it super duper quickly so their searching won't lead to reward. I think once Jacob goes, Andrew will likely be the next in line unless Sarena isn't successful in reintegrating with the others. He's going to need to work hard to stay alive.
HARRISON
Harrison is in a very safe position on this tribe. I don't think anyone has plans to take him out any time soon so he's on a smooth path to the merge if things stay as they are. I don't think he'll have to deal with any possible backlash at a Jacob blindside at all, and I think people have the fewest reasons to go after him. It's honestly a very impressive game.
|
Vecher Tribe
|
BILLY
of the newbies to ORGs we see this season, Billy has arguably been best at adapting to the gameplay format (although Harrison is right up there with him). He's well integrated into the tribe, he's built the right bonds, and he's got himself a fair bit of power. He's partly on a couple of radars for the longterm game but there's plenty of time for those ideas to change.
KURTIS
Kurtis is definitely leading the tribe after the successful Anders blindside. He's subtly making sure Alex and Dustin are still being viewed as outsiders to the group of 5 that has formed with a little bit of paranoia and distrust. Kurtis is no stranger to winning when it comes to ORGs so I'm unsurprised he's been so successful thus far.
ALEX
Alex I think made a critical mistake by waiting as long as he did to try and guess for the string (which he did in prod chat this morning). Maybe he just didn't think of it until today, but if he waited then he likely cost himself the idol. I'm glad he and Dustin at least have each other right now, and I really think it's important that he does his best to hold onto any relationship he has with Jay.
ADRIANNE
Adrianne has been influential in keeping the distrust in Alex and Dustin well and alive with the idol clue information. I don't fully understand it because I don't think she's seen as a central member of the majority alliance right now and could be a viable boot down the line, and Alex and Dustin are starved for allies, but I think it might just be to avoid being labeled as sneaky so early on or earning a reputation of not being loyal to anyone.
JAY
Yo what's up? It's your boy Jay.... Jay is becoming a really interesting character to this game and I'm very happy about it! He's stepped out from a quiet start and I think he's going to be a key player in the next couple of rounds at least, maybe even farther. He was smart with getting the clues and searching immediately, and he's been rewarded with a chance at completing an idol tonight! Adrianne has seen to it that people don't believe anyone who thinks he has the idol or even idol clues, so right now he's sitting pretty.
MIKE
By an extremely narrow margin, Mike has survived his first ever Endure tribal council in two seasons. Good for him! I think he's found a good footing in this game, but I also don't think I can see him putting himself in a shiny enough light to win this game. That might be part of his allure to the others is that he doesn't seem like a potential threat standing in the way of victory for a lot of people. He should continue doing what he's doing but he's gonna need to start setting the groundwork of being taken seriously as someone people could envision voting for in the end before it's too late in the game.
DUSTIN
He cannot seem to catch a break! He loses Anders, misses the idol clues, and now an attempt at trust building with Adrianne with truthful statements has unwittingly painted a really big target on his back! His saving grace will likely be either Jay finding the idol and saving him or an Utren losing streak. I hope he can turn it around, he's got a gripping underdog story right now and I'm always a fan of a good underdog.
ROB
Rob is very much a central role in the tribe. I don't think he's in the same power position as Kurtis but I think he'd be second highest in the tribal heirarchy as it stands. I don't think people see him as too threatening to worry about which is good for his game right now. I'm curious to see how he plays moving forward.

I love the dynamic on Vecher right now. I definitely see their next vote being an easy one with Alex leaving (unless Jay gives him the idol lol) but after that it could get intense. I see Jay being a big player on this tribe moving forward. I love him and Adrianne trying to act like they're super tight with each other but lying to each other like crazy. I could see the two of them coming after one another down the line.
I think both tribes are shaping up where the majority is going to fuck themselves come a merge. They all seem to assume there's no swap and that they'll need numbers over the other tribe when the merge does come, yet the majority on both tribes seem to be fine isolating multiple members and risking them flipping in that scenario.

Sarena's confessional of her trying to figure out where the idol is is hilarious. Also, I feel her being so wrapped up in finding the idol is giving her tunnel vision and not helping her see the bigger picture on her tribe.

My thoughts after some random confessionals.
I wish Serena would give us more content about her game haha the last two have just been about an idol she ain't getting! What's going on with your social relationship? Are you any closer to noticing you're in the minority?
I think Joey's plan to tell the Andrew-Serena-Jacob group that they lost majority because he threw a vote on Jayden/Harrison/Jenn//Kilby or whoever is probably just not going to be worth it in the long run. I think he should just try to recover relationships with those people rather than continue lying to them, because he will be exposed.
Glad to hear Dustin recovered well! It's interesting how according to Kurtis this move will make the group of 4 (Billy Kurtis Rob Adrianne) each evaluate their own individual options moving forward. Was this a miscalculation or did they go into this move knowing the consequence? Why not stick together? I want to hear more about why he thinks this might be the case.
I really think Billy's move right now is to get tight with Jay. I think out of everyone jay has less of a reason to be upset with billy, given they weren't involved socially, but I believe they could get along and with the kurtis/rob duo, and adrianne's relationship with jay, billy needs ammunition.
i'm a big fan of jay and i'm glad he's becoming a force on this tribe, and likely getting the idol, but i don't know what the point of targeting dustin is. why not work with the other people left out of a vote?
dustin's confessional was really heartbreaking, but good on him for doing all he can do right now and thinkking through how he needs to recover step by step. I don't know his game history, but with how likable and social Dustin is I assume he usually doesn't feel alone this early, and I think it will be really good for him and challenge him as a player to see what he's made of!

"Congratulations on finding the first part of the idol.
Luckily for you, the power is just one step away. As you have the string, you must now just earn the pendant to give you the power. In order to find this pendant, you have two opportunities at challenges, but of course, this comes as a cost. You’ll have to actively work against your team in order to achieve this power without getting caught by your tribe, or the other tribe.
For tonight’s challenge, capture the flag, your task is simple. On each tribe’s side there is a spawn point, this is the triangle between the two flags that no member of the other tribe may touch. This is also where, should your tribe touch the other tribe’s flag, another member may re-enter the game through this point. Your task is simple, you must COLLECTIVELY throughout the challenge, sit on this spot for 2 hours. Your post time’s will count. Meaning, you have to get to this spot at some point, and collect enough time on it to amass to two hours. It does not have to be all in one sitting.
Should you manage to achieve two hours, you will earn the idol for your tribe."

Hoping Vecher loses here for the easy boot, and so that Jacob/Sarena/Gibby have more time to integrate

Even though they won immunity this round, some quick thoughts on Utren...
I'd be surprised if back-to-back rounds of Joey and Harrison getting the blinding light and giving it to each other doesn't raise some flags--like at least some chatter about it. People already seem to know that Joey is in the middle of things--well, more so the people of the Wildlife alliance know this. Harrison appears a bit more firm with Jayden and company, and he's really laid a good hate into Jacob... At any rate, I think everyone else should and could be considering that Joey and Harrison are in by far the best positions on this tribe--the blinding light is a definite reflection of that...
I didn't really like the plan Joey was laying out in his confessional, in regards to eventually voting Jacob or whoever out from that group. He basically wants to throw his vote so he comes across super innocent to the Jacob/Sarena/Gibby side, telling them it's so he can get an idol clue...but in reality it's a way for him to come across squeaky clean and continue to play the middle. If he does it, I think he'd really be overplaying the middle. And I don't think someone like Kilby or Jenn would appreciate that kind of gameplay.
IMO, Joey should just be straight up with Jacob/Sarena/Gibby (whichever 2 are left over)..."I didn't want to force a 4-4 tie, this is why Jacob had to go blah blah" and just repair those bonds if possible, instead of lying b/c lying is much harder than telling the truth.
Jayden has really become my go-to person to watch on Utren. His confessionals are so intelligent and well thought out. He even makes throwing a challenge to get out Jacob/Sarena/Gibby sound so logical...like it's a way to finally prove that his alliance of 5 (Wildlife Coalition) is legit. Jayden also makes a good point on why Sarena going makes sense, given she's the most threatening player amongst those 3...but Jayden also seems to have this early morning alliance with Sarena (and Harrison?), so I hope he sees her more as an asset to his game.
And it sounds like Kilby completed his idol during the capture the flag challenge?? Give the paranoid and powerful more power.

With so many personal faves on Vecher I really hope they stay the course with an easy Alex boot this round...and then basically never lose again so the remaining 7 can get to merge. k? Cool.
A few bullet points about each person:
--Very hyped for Jay to get the idol (maybe he already got it from the challenge??); glad Jay is becoming a more central character in this season, as I think he brings something very interesting--maybe a lowkey villain?
--Adrianne seems to have handled things pretty well post-Anders blindside. And I think telling Jay was a good idea, although now I don't think Adrianne will ever realize Jay could have the idol b/c she think he voted for Anders. Ooop.
--Billy appears to still be doing well and putting the work into this game. I like his assumptions on what will happen game-wise based on knowing what Sam would do lol.
--Kurtis' game might be peaking at this point. He's on cloud-9 with Anders getting out, as he should be. Kurtis is just such a good player and it's showing here. And having Mike in his pocket is so smart.
--I've already talked about how much I love Mike finding his footing here. Surviving a 5-4 vote is a pretty baller move. And overall, linking up with Kurtis is really valuable for Mike's game, and I think it's what could carry him a long way. Could he beat Kurtis in the end? Probably not, but there's a ton of game left.
--Dustin's post-tribal confessional really broke my heart. Getting left out of ANYTHING sucks...and getting burned by people you connected with and care about is a terrible feeling. But it seems like Dustin has played things cool and isn't in any immediate danger this round. The only way he really gets screwed in the coming rounds is if the others falsely assume he has an idol.
--Rob is still the king of kings in this game. Can't wait for him to win.
