Come on in guys! Before we get into results, we have a big announcement to make. You may remember those lists I asked you all to create in ranking your tribes? Those did indeed serve a very important purpose! In doing these lists, you were electing a ruler for your tribe.
Each tribe ruler will have a small handful of "perks" for these first few days here on the island. To start, the ruler will be in charge of all major tribe decisions. They will decide challenge roles and sit-outs. In addition, you have a very powerful double vote that you can use
once... but be careful! This double vote is only good for as long as these tribes last, which will remain a mystery for right now.
Each tribe was already created by a leader, but were the tribe mates satisfied enough with this leader to elect them ruler? Let us find out!
Congratulations to the three of you! Hali, the original tribe picker of Jaruud itself, will become ruler of Jaruud. Some interesting developments on Chonos and Oronar however as Chase and Christine have risen to rulers of their tribes respectfully!
Let's see how you did!
Part 1: Scrambling
Each castaway received two letters in addition to the one -- M -- already provided.
Oronar got an incredibly early lead by solving the password within seconds! Chonos was not far behind by solving it in just three minutes, Jaruud closely following within four.
Part 2: COMMUNICATION!
The word? Communication! And you will need it to master this part of the challenge. The word would need to be spelled 10 times consistently and a single mistake would be all it takes to make you start over again!
All three tribes fumbled at the start, making mistakes left and right with everyone attempting to participate and inevitably posting the wrong letter. Soon enough all tribes would form a very simple system -- two representatives from each tribe would go post-by-post. For Oronar, it was Matty and Chelsea. Chonos had Francesca and Matt. As for Jaruud, Hali and Fabio. Once a rhythm was decided, no mistakes were made!
Jaruud showed the best team work with Hali and Fabio finishing several minutes before Chonos and Oronar. They began work on their puzzle with a nice head start. Oronar was able to finish just before Chonos, but both tribes were neck and neck.
Part 3: Slider Puzzle
The three tribes began to work on the following
slider puzzle.
Despite the head start, Jaruud took nearly 10 minutes to solve the slider which put them back into competition with Chonos and Oronar. They were able to finish, but some technical difficulties caused them to fumble with their finished product to lose some time. Despite this...
Congratulations Jaruud! Fabio, Hali, Jenn, John, Laura and Woo are safe from Tribal council tonight. But we're not finished quite yet!
Chonos and Oronar stayed close in this one and by the time both were done, the winning tribe won by just merely
one minute!

Congratulations Oronar and Jaruud! You are safe from Tribal Council tonight.
Sorry Chonos! You will be heading to Tribal Council tonight where one of the six of you will be the first person voted out of 39 Days in Mongolia.
One final thing! Each round, at least one player will have the opportunity to enter exile. Details of how exile will work will be given only to the person chosen to go. However, several powerful tools can be found in the vast land of exile!
Jaruud was the fastest tribe to finish and as such, Hali will now make the very important decision to send one member of the Chonos tribe to exile. Hali has one hour to decide or else it will be randomized.
