And we're off!
First off all, as I forgot to say in Mark's Minute, it's an honor to be apart of this inaugural cast. Something's telling me this series will have some staying power, and that's not kissing up. Well kinda, but I'm being honest when I say that lol.
So far, I think my communication is going excellent. I've reached out to all but two people, had conversations with all but three, and at least from my POV, have some solid relationships already growing. This may sound like a normal ORG player to you, but trust me, this is a personal feat. Dare I say, I'm feeling the best I have about a game start in a long while.
Since I've actually spoken to mostly everybody I guess I'll do the obligatory cast ranking/assessment:
Loving:
Chelsea: Chelsea is without a doubt my favorite person in the game right now. Favorite like, if I'm not on the same tribe as her, I will be broken. She's a newbie, she's sweet, and were pretty much the same player, even though I've probably played in quadruple the ORGs she has lol. In a perfect world, we end up on the same tribe and start running this game together. I trust her almost completely all ready and would love to work with her.
Matt: I wasn't sure if I was gonna like Matt at first, but with our conversation today, he has quickly vaulted to one of my favorite people in the game so far. Like Chelsea, we share common interest, have gotten to have a conversation at length without stalling, and seem to be already chilled out and past the introduction level with each other. Would love to be on a tribe with him, just ever so slightly less than with Chelsea.
Jenn: Jenn and I share a love/hate relationship for BBUS and like Matt and Chelsea, she's already chilled out with me in just a conversations time. I put her third simply since I haven't spoken to her since then, but she's somebody I'm really enjoying.
Liking:
Chase: My conversations with Chase have been on and off, but he seems like a good guy. He apparently went through all of S21 in basically a day, and for that, I applaud him.
Kelley: I'm still just ever so apprehensive about Kelley because it seemed like she wanted to be on a tribe with me within five minutes, but other than that she's great.
Laura: I wish me and Laura's conversations wouldn't die, because I think they've been solid. We've just kind of talked about life, but then they'll just stall. Sucks, because she seems like good people
Christine: Christine is so noob and it's cute. She asked me how she should play her alias and it felt good to be giving advice instead of taking it for once. I'm not into using newbies or anything, but if I ended up on a tribe with her, I wouldn't be mad.
Misty: Misty has said she hopes we end up on the same tribe, but it was more kind of in the "I've said this to everybody I've talked to kind of way" to me. That's probably just my paranoia though, and it won't be the last time that it has me thinking crazy.
Hali: Hali is nice, but at times, our conversation felt awkward, and I legit forgot why lol. So it probably wasn't that big of a deal, hopefully we can become close if need be.
Matty: See above, and plus we talked for maybe two minutes
Eh:
Fabio: I haven't gotten to talk to Fabio enough to really get to know him, but he seems like a bro, solid Fabio. Just like the real guy though, I'm sure he's smarter than he may seem.
Woo: Me and Woo just couldn't get past that intro level of conversation. Hopefully things improve if we end up on a tribe together.
Kathy/Dave: Idk what it is, but my conversations with these two just didn't seem entirely great. The awkwardness that I felt with Hali was amped up and both ended sort of abruptly, but their only first impressions, no big deal lol. But seriously, they seem nice enough.
Brett: I just can't find much to talk about with Brett, and it sucks. It's accurate character though lol
No Communication:
Ciera
John K
Right now, my dream tribe makeup would probably be:
Jaruud, because RED
Me
Matt
Chase
Chelsea
Jenn
Kelley
I doubt I get any of them, because me and luck are not friends. With the kind I have, I'll probably have a tribe of:
Me
Brett
John K
Ciera
Kathy
*insert person here because everybody else I feel like I could get along decently with*
We'll see how things go, but to ease the pain, I'll always go in expecting the worst.

So good luck blows my way, and Chelsea wins the challenge. Then bad luck blows by and I end up with Brett, Kathy, and Matty. Chelsea wasn't getting to talk with too many people, so I definitely so this as a possibility, but I'm not feeling the best about our makeup. Other then Chelsea, I probably would've rather ended up on the Gold/Brown/Whatever color that is tribe, but this is the hand I have dealt and I've got to play it correctly. Feels great and terrible to be the first person picked. Franny wanted to pick me as well, and with Jeff making it clear (lol) that we were picked in that order, I feel like I may have just a wee bit of a target on me, but I hope not. I just tried to cover my bases in the obvious event that I lost this challenge.
And of course, I wasn't even close when the announcement was made. Try 48% complete smh. The one thing I can't end up as in an active game is a challenge liability. With no inactives, that becomes the next best reason to get somebody out early, and I plan on living in the Mongolian jungle for the whole thirty-nine days, thank you very much. Not about to be voted out first because I can't do puzzles, and I can't, so I'm gonna have to work things socially and strategically. I'm not about to win this game like I'm Terry or Joe.
In terms of positioning, I'm feeling decent. Never want to get too high in this game, but I feel like I can trust Chelsea and Christine no matter what, and I'm solid enough with Matty. That makes four, and for now, that's a majority of the tribe. Keeping that will let me get to the swap, and that's what I'm focused on right now. If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere.

Tribal council with my tribe tonight would not be good. I don't feel very safe yet with anybody outside of Chelsea, just haven't had that chance of communication. The pace of the game is already getting to me haha, but I love it. It keeps it realistic and plus we get buffs. You guys are doing an awesome job! I'm just hoping we can back up our game right now, and keep finishing first. I don't even have to walk into TC, not now.

The tribe vibe is rocking right now, but it's only the first round, this happens. I think I may be doing the best socially on the tribe, but I'm not gonna get to amped up about it. If I stick around, I'm going to have to fight that urge all of my game. Getting complacent can't happen, and I've got to stay focused on whatever checkpoint is in my face at that moment. Right now, it's all about not going out first. What I hope is that I just don't even have to strategize about a vote. This seems like a good challenge group outside of myself, and I'm hoping it's enough to get the win, whether it's 1st or 2nd (hoping it's like the real show and two tribes win). Whether we win or lose, I do NOT want to be the worst performer on the tribe. I feel like how well I do in these effects so much of the game right now, especially the way the tribe seems to be going. None of us are overly active or probably even the best socially, so I feel like a bad challenge is enough to scapegoat, as it would be on basically any tribe.
In the event that we do go, I don't really have a set target. I feel like at this point, I may go with the Sandra strategy and float a little. As long as it's not me, I'm good. The only person I feel like I really have a connection with is Chelsea and she's the only other person I would be sad seeing get the boot from this group. I feel strongly about her being my One True Person in this game, and we solidified our alliance yesterday, when everybody else (I hope) was still figuring out wtf to do. Usually, those are the alliances that stick and make it far, so I'm just hoping we keep up with the trends. The finals weren't explicitly mentioned or anything, but I think we were already so good, it didn't need to be said. The last time I had somebody like this in a game was the last time I made jury and that person won the whole bang. If me and Chelsea can make it, I'd obviously love us to be sitting in the finals together, but if it had to be like my last try, I'd love a role reversal lol.

Who's not going to tribal tonight? This guy!
Who's not gonna be the first person voted out in the history of this series? This guy!
Who's not the ruler of this tribe? This guy!
But I'll take a majority of positives!
It feels so refreshing to not be the first tribe to lose. I seriously think this is the first time in my ORG history that it's happened, and I'm just so at peace right now knowing I won't have to make that decision or be the result. And I can really only thank my tribe, specifically Chels and Matty. They did most of the work for our tribe and without Matty getting the PW in like five seconds, we probably would've lost. We all thought we dominated that challenge, so it's a bit scary to know how close it was. These people are here to PLAY and this is probably gonna be 39 days of hell for whoever gets that far...hopefully myself, I'll take it. But it's gonna be tight. With the competitiveness, being a challenge liability could end up being worse of a curse than I thought.
I'm guessing that's how Chonos will end up choosing the first person eliminated. I have preferences for sure on who I'd like to see go with my opening day conversations. With Chase as captain I'm doubting he'll go. I know Matt and Franny are cool, and I think the three of them could easily get along. That leaves Ciera, Dave, and Misty. Misty was nice when we talked, so I would probably prefer Dave or Ciera leaving, but really, I've just go to stay focused on my tribe situation.
I was wondering what the heck tribe rankings had to do with this, and I shouldn't be surprised that they awarded new power. I've definitely got my eyes on Christine after that. I think I underestimated her a bit, and now she's got a HUGE power in the extra vote. Luckily, it's just temporary, but still, it could shift ALOT. I need to make sure that she's on my side if we do end up ever going to tribal, and I think I'm doing a pretty good job of it so far. Obviously I'm not the flat-out favorite with these results, but I don't think I'm too far behind. Why you ask? Because of my alliance....
Me. Chelsea. Brett. It's happening.
Chelsea brought up that Brett said he's talked to me and her the most and I rolled with it. He's probably the person I've talked to the least lol, but I'm taking what I get, and if Chelsea trust him I do to. I gave him a little bite on the idea, he bit, and I reeled it in. And now Matty is telling me I'm the person he's connected with the most! Another deal, and one that I feel good about. He's a bro and I legitimately do like the vibe we have when we've been able to have long convos. With 3 other people on a six person tribe being in with me now though, I've got to walk a tightrope. I don't want to be a snake, and right now my options are Christine and Kathy if things stayed in place. Brett is talking about bringing in Christine as a 4th with her power, and that's probably the smartest thing to do to not piss her off. And I like her lol, but the announcement of powers and exile has me thinking a lot more strategically than last night. The game is afoot, and I'm feeling great about my position in it. Hopefully that doesn't change.
