Endure Starting Guide

Welcome! Endure is an online Survivor-format game that includes a…
- Production team that designs and tests challenges, addresses player questions/concerns, runs major game events and all other game logistics.
- Live audience that comments the game from the Endure Viewer’s Lounge
- Full cast of 24 committed players

I. SECRET:

You have agreed to start this game in darkness. This means that you will know the players on your own tribe, but you will not know who is on the other tribes. The full cast will not be revealed to the players until there is a swap or merge.

Do not tell people in the ORG/Survivor community that you are playing an ORG (Online Reality Game). You never know, they could also be playing Endure. Cluing anyone in the community that you’re in a game (no matter how vaguely) can affect your game in ways you might not be able to predict (and has been disastrous for some).

If you suspect you know someone on another tribe, it is in your best interest to avoid communication with that person altogether. That is considered cross-tribal communication and a violation of the rules. If you have a question about any possible exceptions to this rule, please consult with production.

Once the game has started, keep the identities of your tribemates a secret until production reveals them publicly on the Endure Facebook page.

II. VIEWERS:

Our live audience will watch the game from the Viewer’s Lounge. This is a private section on the Endure 13 message board and Discord server. This is where viewers will get updates, discuss the game, and give the players something to look at once the season has ended. If you know any Endure 13 viewers, do not discuss the game with them. If you have a question about any possible exceptions to this rule, please consult with production before speaking to any viewer about the game.

III. YOUR COMMITMENT:

This game runs non-stop from the first day until the Final Tribal Council. Expectations for players include:
-Participating in video calls and text chats: You will communicate with your tribemates daily. This can happen one-on-one or with 2+ players. Production will set up your tribe chat and tribe call for you. Any other chats with your tribemates will need to be created by you. If you would like assistance in creating a group chat or group call on Discord, feel free to ask production for help.

-Posting at least 1 video confessional per round: Consult the Confessional Guide in your confessional on how to do this.

-Playing to the best of your ability and keeping production in the loop. If there is anything that prevents you from participating or enjoying Endure at any time, let production know. We care about your time with us and your well-being!

-If you feel that you are not able to make this commitment, please notify a member of production immediately BEFORE the season begins. An immense amount of time and effort has gone into the planning of this game. Production will replace anyone that feels they cannot fully participate in the game. Should a player decide to quit while the game is in progress, that player will not be replaced.

IV. CHALLENGES

Challenges fall under three classifications:
- Live Challenge: A live challenge will consist of everyone in the game participating in a time-sensitive challenge where everyone starts at the same time. Production will schedule a time where everyone's schedules are best reflected for that period. You will know the results of this challenge as soon as they end.

- Semi-Live Challenge: A semi-live challenge is the most popular challenge style, also referred to as a session. This is a challenge where you will need to compete with a production member's help, but you can compete whenever you are free. We ask that you do let production know as soon as possible when you intend on competing so make sure we have someone present. We will let you know ahead of time when the challenge will be due. You will usually have about 24 hours to complete it, though you will only be competing for a narrow window during that period. You will know the results for this challenge once everyone has competed.

- Non-Live Challenge: A non-live challenge is a challenge where you will not need a production member to compete. It is something that you will be able to do completely on your own time without a production member to guide you through the process. Whether creative or skill-based, this is a challenge that is entirely self-facilitated. Like semi-live, the results will be known once everyone has competed.

V. STREAMING AND RECORDING;

Production will stream and record ALL “Production Events”, including Tribal Councils, Challenges, Night 1 Tribe Calls, Swaps and Live Announcements. As needed, we edit out sensitive content; when this is not possible, we make recordings unavailable. By playing Endure, you are agreeing to be streamed and recorded for all Production Events. Recordings are made available to viewers as unlisted videos. These always remain as unlisted videos, viewable only by link.

We ask that you add Production to your calls and conversations by adding both Samm and ProdBot. This account will have added you as a friend.

Production may join your 1-on-1 or alliance voice/video calls as silent listeners. Production may stream calls (especially game-related calls) live to the Viewer’s Lounge, they will message you in the chat when they intend to stream. This allows Viewers to watch the game as it happens! Also allows you to reflect on calls post-season. Please tell production (privately or in-call) if you wish to opt-out of live streaming for that call. This is not a problem and we will put your comfort above all. If you would like a stream to end during a call, tell the production immediately, especially as the call transitions out of game conversation. If you would like production to make a particular recording unavailable before or after the season is complete, please inform production in your production chat.
